Our Story

With over 30 years of experience as a psychologist and play therapist, I’ve developed Mind Me!, an emotional intelligence program designed to support children’s social and emotional growth.

The idea was born more than 15 years ago, and it’s been a privilege to see those early participants grow into resilient, emotionally aware young adults. The COVID-19 pandemic brought into sharp focus just how vital these skills are, reigniting my commitment to help children navigate their emotions and relationships. I revisited and completely refreshed the original Mind Me! program to meet the challenges today’s children face.

Every day in my practice, I witness the emotional toll the pandemic has taken on young minds. That experience has deepened my belief that emotional intelligence is one of the greatest gifts we can offer the next generation. It’s a joy to continue this journey - now with Carla by my side - bringing Mind Me! to the Helderberg Basin and beyond.

Our Approach

At Mind Me!, we believe that learning about emotions should be engaging, meaningful - and fun! Our sessions are interactive and thoughtfully designed to be flexible, adapting to the unique needs of the children in each group on any given day.

We take the time to get to know every child, ensuring that each one feels seen, heard, and valued. Every session includes opportunities for children to share, reflect, and connect - because we know that growth happens in safe, supportive spaces.

While Mind Me! is not a form of therapy, we do provide emotional support. We create a space where feelings are welcomed and skills are developed. If we feel that a child might benefit from additional individual support, we will always communicate openly with parents and caregivers.
